At World Youth Day 2000, Pope John Paul II said, “Set the Eucharist at the center of your life: love the Eucharist, adore the Eucharist.” Accordingly, YOUTH 2000 is a Eucharist-centered retreat — giving you the opportunity to participate in an 800-year-old practice called Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
In simple terms, this means the body of Christ (the bread consecrated at the Mass) is exposed for all to see. It’s Jesus, in the room, with you. Physically. You can see Him, you can talk to Him, you can listen to Him. There aren’t any words in any language that can describe this experience, so we won’t even try. But we certainly invite you to.
If you’re Catholic, you know all about Mary. But do you feel like you really know her? Through the Rosary and special devotion, YOUTH 2000 will build your relationship with Our Lady. She’s a good person to know, because she knows God. We’re talking about networking on the highest possible level.
